Author: Alice Clayton
Genre: Contemporary Romance/Humor

Review: 4 out of 5 stars
From New York Times bestselling author Alice Clayton, the first in a brand-new romance series telling the humorously sexy tale of Roxie, a private chef who gets a taste of love—but is it to stay, or to go?
After losing almost all of her clients in one fell swoop following an accident involving whipped cream, private chef to Hollywood’s elite Roxie Callahan gets a call from her flighty mother, saying she’s needed home in upstate New York to run the family diner. Once she’s back in the Hudson Valley, local organic farmer Leo delivers Roxie a lovely bunch of walnuts, and soon sparks—and clothing—begin to fly. Leo believes that everything worth doing is worth doing slowly…and how! But will Roxie stay upstate, or will the lure of West Coast redemption tempt her back to Tinseltown?
Goodness. Is there ever a Leo that doesn’t make you melt!? Leo du Pres, Leo DiCaprio, and now.. Leo Maxwell. ❤
Alice writes another book that will leave you grinning and blushing. Nuts is an absolute delectable read!
Roxie loves her job. She loves the excitement around creating dishes–and even more so, having others enjoy said yummies. Though, everything she’s worked so hard for just came crashing down after one slip-up. One itsy bitty cooking mishap for a very rich (and blabbermouth) woman drives a big wrench into her dreams. Wanting to look on the bright side, Roxie continues to work for the couple that reminds her what real people are like: Grace Sheridan and Jack Hamilton. **YES!! Our two favs from The Redhead Series! They make her miss something she didn’t know she was. Home.
Though she doesn’t know it yet. 😉
While figuring out what her next step will be, Roxie’s hippie and go-with-the-flow mother tells her she needs her help watching her diner while she gallivants around the world appearing on a hit TV show. The last thing she wants to do is go back to her hometown, but she’s got nothing to lose. So, Roxie concedes. It’s only a summer, right? It’ll give her some fresh air, that way she’ll come back to California in the fall to resume business. Done!
(and there’s always a but–and butt. Ahem.)
…the first day she’s there, Roxie bumps into (literally) Leo the farmer. Correction, the hot-available-dreamy-charming-ermahgerd-he-has-a-beard-too farmer. And he is carrying nuts. His nuts. *He owns a farm.
As time passes, Roxie and Leo connect over their love of local and fresh produce, and spending a great few months together. They’re so in sync with each other’s ideas and easy, fun spirit, that the attraction is instant. Though Roxie doesn’t want anything more than a sizzling summer romance, it’s hard not to fall for Leo and his nuts. Soon enough, they’re thinking of what’ll happen when fall comes, though neither want to rock the boat.
THEN! OOooOOO! Then, there’s a plot twist that will make your jaw drop! Dun dun DUNN!! Gosh, I love plot twists, and really good ones too! This certain one made the book even better. I didn’t see it coming and loved the way the story turned.
Will Roxie and Leo make beautiful
music food together?! You’ll have to read to find out! 😀

ALICE CLAYTON worked in the cosmetics industry for over a decade before picking up a pen (read laptop). She enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up, and finally convinced her long-time boyfriend to marry her. Now, about that Bernese Mountain dog.
