Suddenly One Summer CoverTitle: Suddenly One Summer

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Book description:

From the New York Times bestselling author of It Happened One Wedding comes a novel about a man and a woman whose summer is about to get very, very steamy…

Divorce lawyer Victoria Slade has seen enough unhappy endings to swear off marriage forever. That doesn’t mean she’s opposed to casual dating—just not with her cocky new neighbor, who is as gorgeous and tempting as he is off-limits. But once she agrees to take on his sister’s case, she’s as determined to win as ever—even if that means teaming up with Ford…

Investigative journalist Ford Dixon is bent on finding the man who got his sister pregnant and left her high and dry. He’s willing to partner with Victoria, despite the fact that the beautiful brunette gets under his skin like no other woman. He might not be looking to settle down, but there’s no denying the scorching attraction between them. Still, the more time he spends with Victoria, the more he realizes that the one woman as skeptical about love as he is might be the only woman he could really fall for…

Review:

Suddenly One Summer was wonderful, bold, and courageous. I loved this story and these characters so much! This book stole my heart! ❤

Victoria in a nutshell is fierce and independent. She’s the woman who may intimidate people, or others are completely struck by her presence and confidence. She’s a lawyer that doesn’t take no for an answer and loves to win. When her house gets broken into, she figures the best thing to do is move someplace new and safe. The break-in triggers an anxiety disorder she’s had for a while, and finds a great therapist to help her deal with some issues. In her sessions, she realizes a lot of her fear stems from her past, and they find a way to solve them. One big thing she has been avoiding all these years is any sort of commitment. Since Victoria sees broken marriage cases every day, it doesn’t change her mind in NOT wanting a marriage of her own anytime soon.

Once she moves into her new temporary summer loft, she catches the eye of her super hot neighbor–and I mean HOT! He’s also the same guy she saw days before with her friends. Both realized there was something in the air, but missed the chance to walk over and chat. Now, Ford Dixon is her next door neighbor and just feet away from becoming her peace and everything she thought she wasn’t missing. 🙂

Mix-ups, plot twists, and heartbreak ensues, but it all leads to a perfect and happy ending! These two characters aren’t broken, but just badly bruised. After they spend loads of time together, they fall into a more than comfortable connection that soon turns into a promising romance. ❤

This book was exactly what I needed! It was full of great humor, sarcasm, touching moments, and sizzling love. The writing was superb, and the story addicting. I laughed, I cried, and I fell madly in love with this story!

You must check this out! I also promise that you’ll fall head over heels with Ford! He’ll become your new book boyfriend for sure! 😉

I can’t WAIT to read more from Julie!
