The highly anticipated third novel in the Searching For series from Jennifer Probst, “one of the most exciting breakout novelists” (USA Today), featuring a runaway bride and the man who wants to be more than just her best friend…

Genevieve MacKenzie has her life completely under control. About to wed the charming Chief doctor at the local hospital, she’s an up-and-coming surgeon with everything she could ever want. Until an escape through the church window on the day of her wedding sends her life into a tailspin…and flings her right into her best friend’s arms.

When Wolfe catches his best friend falling out a window on her wedding day, he doesn’t ask questions. He whisks her away, determined to watch over her and discover the truth behind her desperate escape. But when his feelings turn more than platonic, he realizes he may risk his most important relationship in order to protect his damaged heart, and the woman he loves.

Can Genevieve and Wolfe’s friendship turn into something deeper—or is it already too late for true love?

Review:

Wonderful love story about overcoming pain, tragic pasts, and the beauty of friendship. ❤

Gen and Wolfe have been best friends for years. They feel more than comfortable around each other, always enjoy being together, and know more about one another than anyone else. Yet, they’ve never been more than just friends.

Wolfe finds her sneaking out of the church window on the day of her wedding and immediately knows what to do: get her far far away. She needs time to think about her relationship and her career, and Wolfe is the perfect one to help her. He drives her miles away where they spend quality time together that’s been lost due to Gen’s ex-fiancée David’s outrageous demands and jealousy.

After a lot of soul searching, Gen realizes her whole relationship with David has been fake. She must’ve loved him, but it wasn’t the love she hoped and wanted for herself. He was always controlling her every move and manipulating her decisions. She lost a lot of herself in the time with him, and lost even more time with her friends and family by making excuses to avoid seeing them when David wanted. Now that she can see things clearly, she’s vowed to do things differently and find someone who loves her for who she is and doesn’t want to change her.

Wolfe has always been in love with Gen. She’s his best friend and wants only the very best for her. She’s beautiful, smart, funny, and everything he could want in a woman. But he can’t. He isn’t right for her. She needs someone who isn’t broken, and a future with someone who is in it for the long haul. He loves her, but wants her to have a full life that he believes he isn’t worthy of sharing. 😥

BUT, once the line gets blurred, it’s hard to hide those true feelings that keep bubbling up. They make each other better, and only want each other.

Wolfe has gone through so much as a kid. How he overcame such terrible things is astounding. Once we find out his story and who helped him, we see Wolfe in a different light and understand his hesitance to start anything more than a friendship with Gen. For all those reasons and more, I absolutely loved his character! To me, he was the heart and soul of this book and made me want to keep reading. He and Gen’s love story was nothing less than beautiful! They belonged together all along. ❤
