Review: The Deal by Elle Kennedy

The Deal CoverTitle: The Deal (Off-Campus #1)
Author: Elle Kennedy
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary Romance
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Book Description:

She’s about to make a deal with the college bad boy…

Hannah Wells has finally found someone who turns her on. But while she might be confident in every other area of her life, she’s carting around a full set of baggage when it comes to sex and seduction. If she wants to get her crush’s attention, she’ll have to step out of her comfort zone and make him take notice…even if it means tutoring the annoying, childish, cocky captain of the hockey team in exchange for a pretend date.

…and it’s going to be oh so good.

All Garrett Graham has ever wanted is to play professional hockey after graduation, but his plummeting GPA is threatening everything he’s worked so hard for. If helping a sarcastic brunette make another guy jealous will help him secure his position on the team, he’s all for it. But when one unexpected kiss leads to the wildest sex of both their lives, it doesn’t take long for Garrett to realize that pretend isn’t going to cut it. Now he just has to convince Hannah that the man she wants looks a lot like him.

Review:

Playful, hot, and irresistible! Great introduction to Elle Kennedy and her books! Loved this story and the characters! ❤

I could not get enough of The Deal. I simply adored this book and can’t wait to read more from Elle! The writing: absolutely wonderful. The dialogue: sweet, sarcastic, and authentic. The chapters flowed seamlessly, and every character you read about made you want to keep reading more. I loved it from the first page. Did I mention it was dual POV too?! OH SNAP! 😮 You know how much I love reading both points of view. I crave it! The Deal was a perfect mix of everything you want to read in a New Adult Romance.

Garrett is cocky, but amusing. When he meets Hannah it’s all about getting her to become his tutor, after their whole class (except Hannah-not-with-an-M)* fails their test. His persistence and determination is something to admire. He texts her, finds her coincidentally eats at the diner she works at, and begs constantly for her to teach him all he needs to know to ace his next exam. Don’t get me wrong, he’s not crazy. haha  He’s blatantly honest and straightforward. He’s the kind of guy that will move heaven and earth for something..or someone. 😉

Garrett will make you swoon and make your heart melt. He’s got a rock solid body (thanks to his many years playing hockey) and a heart of gold to match. He’s a loyal teammate, and even better friend. When Hannah and Garrett start opening up a lot more and talking about things other than Philosophy class, we really get to see his true colors. He may seem like a typical “Big Man on Campus” jock, but he’s actually a big softy–especially with her. 😛

Hannah has not had it easy. After an unimaginable few years, she’s finally ready to date. When a new transfer student (and football star) sparks her interest, she’s keen on making things turn around. She wants to get to know him but is too nervous to make a move. She’s smart, opinionated, and talented, but needs a boost to help her go after what she wants.

When Garrett realizes the best way for Hannah to help him in class is by helping her attract the new star-athlete, he’s quick to make a deal that’ll work in both their favor. And boy, does it get interesting! They may come from different backgrounds but they soon find out they have much more in common than just sharing a class.

I’m SO excited because this is the first book in a NEW series from Elle. No word if the next “Off-Campus” book will be a continuation of Garrett and Hannah’s story or about brand new characters, but I can tell you that it is going to the top of my To-Read list for sure! 😀

*Inside joke you’ll only understand if you get the book! SO HURRY and grab your copy! 🙂
