Review:

Dark, broody, mysterious and incredibly intriguing!

Work of Art tells the story of Ava, a smart and beautiful young girl who loves art and dreams of one day writing about it. She enjoys her job, and works for a man who’s been there for her for years and whom she sees as a father figure. Át one of their art exhibits, she unexpectedly meets the “It” guy at the moment: Maxfield Caswell a.k.a Max, an artist who is becoming more known for his personal life than his brilliant art. When she catches his eye, he takes a keen interest in her and sees that she’s special. To Max, she exudes this angelic and fascinating personality that makes it hard for him to stay away. Instantly, Ava becomes a sort of muse to him, in his art and in his personal life. 😉

While Max insists Ava be part of his new book (that would tell his life as an artist), she begins to see how rough around the edges he might be. When they’re together it’s like they’re in their own world. The pressures of deadlines and interviews become lost, and all they do is enjoy their time together. As any two attractive people hanging around together for days out of the week might know, sparks fly and tensions arise.

Max has a soft spot for Ava, and a fixed way of how he wants his art to be portrayed and done. He doesn’t let too many people into his circle of friends. He’s troubled, but doesn’t want to get too close to Ava and ruin the friendship that’s budding. However, when it comes to her, nothing else matters.

Ava can’t deny the feelings she has for Max. ❤ One day he seems like he might make a move, and the next, he’s just another guy friend. He’s giving her whiplash! YESH! 😉 The relationship friendship they form is tumultuous, intense, and passionate. You can feel the thrill in the air. Ava is caught between trying to help Max balance his promising career, while showing his true colors and be the guy she knows he really is. She’s caught in the middle!

Ooo! Did I mention there’s also a possible love triangle with yet another mysterious guy!? Unlike Max, Jonathan wants to court and seduce Ava the way she deserves to be. #Chapter16 <–OMG!!! :O

But Max is always there clouding her thoughts…

I love this quote featured in the book, and think it sums up a lot:

When you trip over love, it is easy to get up. But when you fall in love, it is impossible to stand again. ~ Albert Einstein

AHHHH!

This was alluring, and compelling! I have a feeling we’ve only hit the surface with these characters. There may be a lot more surprises ahead!

I’m extremely eager to see what’s coming up in Book 2! I can only imagine more secrets will be revealed, and I can’t wait! 😀
