Review: Dirty Rowdy Thing by Christina Lauren

Dirty Rowdy Thing CoverTitle: Dirty Rowdy Thing (Wild Seasons #2)
Author: Christina Lauren
Genre: New Adult/Contemporary Romance
Publisher: Gallery Books
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Book description:

Despite their rowdy hookups, Harlow and Finn don’t even like each other…which would explain why their marriage lasted only twelve hours. He needs to be in charge and takes whatever he wants. She lives by the Want-something-done? Do-it-yourself mantra. Maybe she’s too similar to the rugged fisherman—or just what he needs.

This book was H-O-T! Steamy, passionate, and even tender. ❤

Finn is a dirty, dirrrty boy.  He’s adventurous, for sure, but has a bit of a wild side!

Um. Yea, did I mention he knows a thing or two about tying rope? O_O  No, but seriously, he likes it rough and likes to be… in control

…and so does Harlow. #GetItGirl 😉

Harlow has an amazing relationship with her family. I understood the playful and joking kind of banter they share. So, when a tough and extremely sad case creeps up in their family, her way of coping is to help in any way she can. However, this certain issue is out of her hands and something she can’t control. Naturally, she feels helpless. She’s the one who likes to take care of everyone all the time. She’s the one that keeps everything, and everybody, in check. She’s the glue that holds it all together… but this. This tears her apart, and she’s at a loss of who to turn to and what to do. I can’t say too much about what happens, but those honest moments when each character talked about their families really struck a chord with me. They were compelling. The romance was great, but there was a lot more depth to this book.

In the first two chapters alone, I cried had something in my eye, laughed out loud, fell in love with these characters, and then wanted to shake Finn for being a jerk. (Don’t worry, you’ll quickly fall in love with him again. *wink*)

Harlow and Finn’s connection was different. They’re very similar since they both have a lot of the same tendencies, and pretty much have the same personality. They both like to be in control of everything, in bed and out. Not because they’re dominant but because they’ve done it for so long, it’s in their nature. In their respective families, they’re sort of the non-official leaders of the pack. You can already imagine two dominant forces coming together (ahem) would be explosive!

When Harlow begins to feel a deeper connection with Finn, she lets loose and let’s him take over. And boy does he! He is quite a..ah..a skilled man. That’s all I’ll say about that. -_-

My favorite part of this story must be those moments Finn makes his feelings for Harlow known. For both of them, they like to get straight to the point. It’s incredibly refreshing. They don’t tiptoe around each other about how or what they feel for one another. Sure, as any relationship, it takes some time to finally have it come into fruition. But, those days and nights together are SO intense for both. They quickly realize they aren’t going to be happier, or find anyone else that makes them as blissful as they are when they’re together.

Their relationship is steamy, filled with lust, and full of adoration for one another. At the end of the day, Finn was made for Harlow, and Harlow for Finn. ❤

Get ready to meet this smoking sexy fisherman! Go on, and #FallForFinn! 😉  I leave you with this snippet from my girl, Harlow…

Dear Lord, you guys. Finn in bed is no joke. And he’s not a whiny La Jolla mama’s boy, he’s a man who was raised to get shit done, and not cry over hangnails. Finn could break your vagina and be just handy enough to put it back together.
