Book description:

Once upon a time, there was this pampered rich girl who was kind of full of herself. She really only cared about appearances and hiding all her dark, ugly secrets under the guise of an opinionated snob. But then Eva Mercer got pregnant, shot by a psycho, and kicked out of the only home she knew. Now she’s broke, unemployed, and has to start anew with a newborn to raise. But how?

On the other side of town, sexy, tattooed orphan, Patrick Ryan, can’t get a break. He’s out on parole for defending the last damsel in distress while trying to help her support her child, but all he wants is to find his one true love. He knows this woman by scent, smile, and laugh, but he’s never actually met her. He doesn’t even know her name. He just knows she’s the key to fixing everything.

One kind of hero can save you from physical harm. Another can rescue you from a different kind of doom. To reach their dreams, Eva and Pick can save each other. But first, they must open their hearts and learn how to trust.

Review:

AHHH!! I was waiting for this book for what seemed like FOR-EV-ER!! It was well worth the wait. Goodness, I don’t know how Linda does it. She consistently writes book after book that I find myself not wanting to put down, and devouring in just hours. She’s a genius! 😀

If you haven’t been following the Forbidden Men Series, you should! Each book has its own amazing tone and theme that will have you hooked. We first met Eva Mercer in the first installment, Price of a Kiss; and then got to see her again in To Professor, With Love. Finally in her own book, we find out so much about her upbringing–and I mean, SO MUCH! Behind her “pampered rich girl” persona, like the description says, is a troubled girl with a broken spirit. Once she follows her cousin Reese and eventually moves in with her and Reese’s boyfriend, Mason 😎 , she can finally catch her breath and feel some freedom. Though she’s pregnant and doesn’t have anyone to turn to for help, her cousin comes to the rescue. That is until a certain tattooed boy catches her eye.

Pick is also a wonderful contradiction. Though he seems like a tough and rough-around-the-edges kind of guy, he’s actually the sweetest and kindest guy on the planet! His childhood as a foster kid wasn’t the best, being in and out of places while trying to protect the other children from being tossed around. One night he sees his future thanks to a known kind of witch around the town. All he sees is a much better and happier life than he’s living then and immediately vows to make it come true. After many years of wanting his dreams to become reality, he’ll never forget the face of the one person he shares his happiness with in them: Eva Mercer’s.

SHOCKING. I KNOW!

SQUEE!! So, then, imagine reading some of this book from Pick’s point of view! It’s exciting and will have your heart racing! 😀 Pick is an absolute gentleman, and you’ll be sighing and clinging to your e-reader because you’ll want more! Eva and Pick’s love story was one of my favorites because it was so unique and really heartwarming. Without giving too much away, you see them create a life together, in every sense of the word.

You’ll enjoy their romance so much! I’m sure of it. And as always, I would definitely recommend reading the previous installments in the series just because. You don’t HAVE to but they’re just such wonderful stories and I don’t want you to miss out! 😉

Go on! Catch up with the Forbidden Men Series! 😀
