DC Author Event Spotlight: Cora Carmack

Cora Carmack - TeaseFive minutes (IRL) with Cora Carmack is not enough!  If you guys remember, we were able to chat with her for an hour during our very first Let’s Talk event, Let’s Talk: Indie to Published.  Being able to see her in the flesh for the second time was…awesome!  I don’t know another way to put it. *whispers* OMG!  She remembered me.

The Losing It author was ready as soon as I asked her what her favorite line from all of the books she has written.

I’ll take my chances against your fickle heart if it means it’s mine.
~ Cade, Faking It

Oh, my stars.  Just like you and me, Cora admitted that she would melt if someone said that to her.  She has a fickle heart, too.

If she could only write one more story, it’d be loosely inspired by a college experience Cora had.  It would be literary, darker than what we’ve read from her before, and with themes of religion and identity.  I WANNA READ THAT!  She has been working on it on and off since 2010 and always finds the time to go back to it.  We readers may see it!  Cora will be trying to sell this work on proposal to her publisher.  Fingers crossed y’all!

Cora has always been involved with theatre and sharing her ideas with people, so she’s never really needed the push to let others read her work.  Sharing identity and thoughts with people has always been important to her.

That’s great for us.  Imagine if Cora wasn’t comfortable letting others read her stories.  Now stop imagining that because we have them!  YAY!

If you don’t have them already, click the links below to get the Losing It boxed set AND the upcoming novel, All Lined Up!  (I have my copy and cannot wait to crack it open!)
